Fencing is also a great sport. Modern fencing teaches discipline, grace, and strategy.
Fencers Club, a New York institution established in 1883, is the home to more past and present Olympic fencers than any other club in America.
Located at 229 W. 28th Street, the Fencers Club is a brand new, full floor, fully equipped, state-of-the-art fencing club.
Fencers can begin their training from the age of seven and up. There is appropriate equipment, and there will be fencing partners for them, and most children this age have the ability to respond well to both group and private instruction.
Modern fencing is a dynamic, exciting sport. Fencing as a sport has a long tradition of fostering courage and sportsmanship. Fencing teaches discipline, grace, agility and strategy. The Fencers Club is the oldest fencing club in the United States and has a rich tradition of excellence in all three weapons.
The reasons for your child to try fencing:
It is a fast-paced and exciting sport Great for staying focused It is mentally and physically invigorating Practice quick decision making skills based on changing circumstances Teaches persistence in the face of challenges It is a lot of fun
The way it works: Beginner classes are offered in all three weapons: foil, sabre and epee. The package includes 3 sessions either as group classes, individual lessons or a combination. On the day of the lesson and/or group class, the student may stay for open bouting. Group classes are 90 minutes long and designed specifically for children. The classes consist of footwork, drills, games and open bouting. Individual lessons are 20 minutes in length Present a voucher to the coach before each class or lesson All beginner classes have a rolling admission and are taught by our elite coaches.
