WHO WE ARE: Mystic Drumz is Canada's leading provider of children's world music
education, performing at hundreds of schools, camps, parties, daycares and
theatres over the past 15 years.
OUR BIRTHDAY PARTIES: The program we offer for Birthday Parties varies depending on the age of the group (Junior Party 3 - 6 is 45 minutes, Senior Party 7 -12 is 1 hour in long). At these exciting events the birthday boy or girl becomes King or Queen for the day. Each program works to entrain a child's imagination using the magic of music, movement and storytelling. At each party children partake in an adventure to find "The Legend of Marshmallow Island". On their way there they encounter cute little wooden frog instruments that help us find clues to the elusive Marshmallow Island. The clues lead us to different countries and we find such featured instruments as Chinese Gongs, African Talking Drumz, Brazilian Qucia, Vibra Slaps, Flex Tones, Cow Bells, Shakers, African Djembes, Cuban Bongos, North American Xylophones, Spanish Castanets and more!!.
The program is interactive and includes secret marshmallow movements, the call and response marshmallow chants and the playing of the secret drum. We finish the show with a animal movement dance party and the children have a chance to play on the giant Djembe before hearing the final Marshmallow Island story. The senior party adds 15 extra minutes and the children get to play in a hands-on drum circle environment. They learn beats and rhythms and perform the Marshmallow Song. The Party comes to you and we also mix some story telling about the instruments origins with instrument demonstrations. You need a medium size open space where the children could from a small circle to drum (and space to dance). An extra add on program is offered were kidz/kidlets make an instrument to take home with them. We also offer our wooden frog instruments as an incredible loot bag gift. Our interactive percussion workshops have drums and instruments enough to provide for up to 200 hands-on participants!
The new Mystic Drumz Teacher's Resource Package is truly one of a kind. It has 20 lesson plans (curriculum connected), handouts and 2 full length CD's. This one of kind resource is an invaluable book for any teacher to teach music in their classrooms both on it's on and as a follow up to a Mystic Drumz performance.
The Mystic Drumz team is a creative group of highly skilled musicians and teachers. Each
