We had used the Young Jesters for my son's 7th birthday party last year and were so impressed that we had the company back this weekend for my daughter's 9th birthday. I meant to write a review on here after my son's party because we were blown away by the company and their unique product. But life got busy and I forgot to write a review. After another AMAZING Young Jesters party this weekend, I'm making sure to write a review this time. If you've not yet seen this comany perform, book them quick! Before booking them last year I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Even though their website describes the show and workshops quite clearly, and Lauren provided clear examples over the phone, the show is improv based and so you can never fully understand what will happen in the moment until it's happening!
But we took a chance anyways and they exceeded our expectations by FAR. The performers and Lauren as the narrator have a way of really working with the kids, incorporating their suggestions into the story that is not only entirely appropriate (they adapt very well according to the kids' ages) but also incredibly funny and unlike anything I've ever seen before. After rave reviews from last year, all the adults at the party watched the show this time around and were totally impressed.
Our family prides itself on always having one-of-a-kind birthday parties (it's a lot of pressure year after year as parents of our kids' friends wait to see what we'll come up with next!) The Young Jesters offer something very very special that can't really be described accurately in words. It should be experienced. Book them! (Also, we booked the show and workshop package both times because our kids really wanted to try out improv for themselves after the show, but if you have a limited budget and/or shy kids or party guests, I'm sure just the show package would make for an amazing and memorable party too).

I never actually do this because I have 5 kids and am VERY busy, but I just wanted to tell all the parents out there that the Young Jesters are a FA-BU-LOUS party idea. Even my 4 year old son watched the show the entire time. he didn't get up once And that is saying a LOT when there is candy and popcorn around. Hahaha.
Honestly the show was hilarious. I think they are the only ones around here doing shows like this for kids and I really recommend that you do the show and workshop package if your kids like that sort of thing. It was really better than any drama class I ever took my daughter too. I told them they should teach theatre in Thornhill! I already booked them for my 9 year olds party in april. and they are amazing for girls and boys. my kids like this way better than the sound of music.

I am Tim a single dad who usually isn't such a party animal himself.
I just wanted to write a note on here because Lauren and the young jesters really made my son's party special this year. There show was very fun and unexpected and very energetic and livened up our house and made the kids laugh and have fun in a way I never could by myself. They stayed and helped me with the pizza and handing out the cake and really just made everyone have fun.
it was really a relief because I have had some bad parties in the past and sometimes my son and his friends are hard to control. So if you wanna have fun and the kids to be happy and really pay attention to something they like you really should book them.
They have very reasonable rates also. I will probably have them come to my house again next year when my son turns 10.

We booked the Young Jesters after seeing them perform their special improv show for kids at a corporate family function for my husband's office. They were so professional all the way through from the first phone call to book the party until they waved bye to the kids, took extra time to answer questions, sign autographs etc as they left our house. The show was superb- and more unique than any kid's theatre show I have ever seen in my life-even at the "best" theatres in Toronto- because they involve the children the entire time - and are always asking for their input on the story. So good to see young imaginations so active!

The Jesters came to our house to do a show for my Daughter Kaitlyn's party last week. They were AMAZING!
They performed a show for 15 8 year olds - based on things that the kids suggested. The actors are all professional and you can tell they LOVE what they are doing. This is a real bargain- 3 highly skilled actors for a VERY reasonable price! And an absolutely unforgettable story. So so so glad we had them film it and send us a DVD. We certainly will have them back next year. I have actually already booked them for another party I am having at work, where kids will be in attendance! Truly amazing and unique!
