Students of Bambolino Montessori Preschool & Academy have the opportunities to take risks, to voice opinions and to affect changes within the school environment. OUR CURRICULUM:
Mathematics and science:
Our program’s purpose is to teach each student to think with and enjoy working with numbers. This can be achieved because of our early emphasis on students’ proficiency in addition, subtraction, division and multiplication as well as knowing the
multiplication tables.
Science at this level is taught through projects. The first steps are the introduction of simple concepts such as the weather, the human body, and simple machines. Later, children study more of the actual biological and physical environment such as plant life, light and sound; beginning with simple experiments.
Reading & Writing:
In this age of television and computer games, we are aware of the importance of vocabulary building and reading. We have an excellent reading program and our students far surpass public school norms for their age groups.
Writing is taught with the aim that each student acquires a neat, legible, cursive style penmanship through continuous practice throughout their education with Bambolino.
Balancing the Program through extracurricular activities:
Because there is so much to do to acquire a full education, physical and aesthetic activities can get overlooked if they are not made a definite part of the program. Children need plenty of exercise and growing minds need artistic inspiration.
All students participate in both sports and the arts.
In the arts, students are involved through choir and instrumental performances, dance and gymnastic shows and art exhibitions. Regularly scheduled art activities include drawing, painting, crafts,
woodwork and clay work.
