Description: Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People (formerly --
Young Peoples Theatre) provides students with an opportunity
to discover their creative voice and find their place at Canada's largest theatre for young people. Here, students from age 4 through 18 develop theatre skills, gain self-confidence and learn self-expression, while making friendships that can last a lifetime.

Now in it's 41st year, LKTYP's Drama School offers classes in Drama & Play, Musical Theatre, Film-making and more. High school students can apply to participate in The Ensemble -- a unique two-month training program that culminates in an exciting, collaborative creation performed for the public in LKTYP's Studio Theatre.

Since 1969, some of Toronto's most highly regarded theatre professionals have taught at LKTYP, reflecting our consummate artistic expertise and unwavering commitment to young people. We want to share this dedication with each and every individual who enrols in our classes.

"There is a phenomenal theatre company in Toronto called the Young Peoples Theatre (now called the Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People), and I went and fooled around there, and it was just something I ended up falling in love with."
- Kiefer Sutherland, professional actor (Globe and Mail, Feb. 18/06)
